Begin the day by exploring Dong Yue Miao, a colourful Daoist Temple founded in 1322. Worshippers make offerings at any of the 72 halls that ring the main courtyard. Continue to one of Beijing's loveliest Buddhist Temples, Yonghe Gong (Lama Temple).
This afternoon, drive by Olympic Green, to catch a glimpse of some of the exciting new venues constructed for the 2008 Olympics. Make a photo stop subject to traffic restrictions. Return to the hotel, and evening at leisure.

Today's full day sightseeing tour includes a visit to Tian An Men Square, the largest public plaza in the world; The Great Hall of the People, home to the National People's Congress; the Forbidden City which was the Imperial Palace of the Ming and Qing Dynasty. Explore Beijing's ancient alleyways or hutongs in the oldest part of Beijing, near the Forbidden City. Meet some local residents, and visit one of their homes. Tonight, enjoy a Peking Duck Dinner at the famous Sick Duck Restaurant.

After breakfast, enjoy a full day excursion to the Great Wall at Mutianyu. You will take a cable car ride up to the wall which is one of the world's most awesome sights - over 3,700 miles long and the greatest man made structure in the world. Continue on to the impressive 'Spirit Way', with its sets of enormous stone guardians, which leads to the Ming Tombs. Visit the Chang Tomb before heading back into the city.

This morning, visit the lavish Summer Palace. Take a stroll along the 700+ metre 'Long Corridor' and hear tales of Dowager Empress Cixi's many renovations to this imperial retreat. You will see the marble boat, which the Empress sometimes used for dining and the 150 metre long, 17-arch bridge on Kunming Lake. Continue with a visit to the Temple of Heaven, where the Qing emperors prayed for good harvests. Balance of the afternoon is at leisure. If you are interested, join a shopping excursion to the No. 1 Silk Factory and the Pearl Market.

This morning if time permits, there will be an opportunity for shopping or strolling at Liulichang Street. Depart Beijing by air for Xian and upon arrival transfer to the Sofitel Hotel for 2 nights' accommodation. Later in the day visit the City Wall, Bell Tower and Grand Mosque. Enjoy a dumpling dinner tonight at Defachang, Xian's oldest dumpling restaurant. After dinner, view the beautifully lit City Wall by night.

Once the largest city in the world, Xian is an extreme example of imperial splendour and served China as its capital for 11 dynasties. Today, your sightseeing will include visits to the Qin Shi Huang Di Tomb, with its Army of Terra-Cotta Soldiers and Bronze Chariots. You will also visit the Huaqing Hot Spring and the Temple of the Eight Immortals.

This morning visit the Shaanxi History Museum and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. In the afternoon depart by air for Guilin. Guilin is the most fabled city of China having a reputation for the most beautiful scenery in the country. Your sightseeing will begin with Reed Flute Cave, Elephant's Trunk Hill and Piled Silk Hill. Check into the Lijiang Waterfall Hotel for 3 nights. This evening, take in the dazzling lights in downtown Guilin with a cruise through the city centre on a series of interconnected lakes.

Depart early this morning for the drive north-west to Longsheng. Spend the day viewing the incredible rice terraces, said to be the most beautiful in China, some dating back 600 years. Take a walk to some local villages to meet the minority tribes people living in this area, and see how they live. Return to Guilin this evening.

Make an early start this morning, transferring to the airport for departure to Shanghai. Upon arrival, sightseeing begins with a ride up the Oriental Pearl TV Tower for a bird's eye view of this incredible city. Continue with a stroll along the Bund, followed by a visit to Jade Buddha Temple. Check into the Westin Hotel for a 3-night stay. This evening, enjoy a performance of Shanghai's famous acrobats.
