Arriving in Penang today, you will be met at the airport, and transferred to your chosen hotel.
This evening, experience Georgetown by Night. Georgetown comes to life in a blaze of light at night. Savour the famous Penang local dishes at one of the many open-air food stall centres. Taste the popular 'satay' sticks of barbecued meat and 'char koay teow' noodles fried with seafood while watching how they are prepared. Relax after dinner by taking a trishaw ride through the heart of old Georgetown. Enjoy one round of drinks at the only revolving restaurant that offers a panoramic night view of Georgetown.

Learn about the history and heritage of Penang at the State Museum. Then drive around inner Georgetown, passing through Fort Cornwallis, the most prominent historical remains of Penang. Visit Chew Jetty, the early stilted Chinese settlement of Penang, colourful Little India and bustling Chinatown before stopping at the majestic Khoo Kongsi to admire its intricate carvings and woodwork. From there, see the art of pewter craftsmanship at Royal Selangor Pewter. Then move to the outskirts of Georgetown to visit Tean Ean Local Product centre where you might want to pick up some local spices and confectioneries. Final stop is Wat Chayamankalaram, which houses one of the world's largest reclining Buddhas. (Note: Penang State Museum is closed on Fridays).

Travel to Kuala Sepetang, about 45 minutes from Penang Bridge and stroll the 800 metre long boardwalk of the Matang Mangrove Forest to study the different species of mangrove and spot migratory birds & mud crabs. Adjourn to the nearby charcoal factory to witness the interesting process of transforming mangrove wood into charcoal. Then proceed for lunch in the presence of orang-utan at Bukit Merah before visiting the Taiping Lake Gardens, one of the oldest and most beautiful parks in the country.
