Arriving in Bangkok today, you will be met at the airport, and transferred to your chosen hotel. Balance of the afternoon is at your leisure.
Enjoy dinner this evening on the Legendary "River of Kings". Dine aboard the Tahsaneeya Nava, a unique and beautiful antique teakwood rice barge, and cruise along the historic Chao Phraya River, which flows between the ancient and modern capitals of the kingdom and is the focal point for festivals and royal ceremonies. During the candle-lit cruise along the Chao Phraya River, traditional kim music (Thai xylophone) is played gently in the background. Enjoy the subtle spices of traditional Thai dishes, using only the freshest top-quality products. Each menu is carefully designed to satisfy all palates, drawing upon dishes from each of Thailand's distinct gastronomic regions - the North, the Northeast (Isaan), the South and the Central Plains. A choice of Thai and Thai Vegetarian and Seafood set menus is available.

Cruise Chao Phraya River, Royal Barges Museum, Grand Palace

Make an early start this morning to begin your exploration of Bangkok in one of the best possible ways - by boat. A cruise along the Chao Phraya River - the city's lifeblood - and the canals of Thonburi on the east side of the river, reveals scenes at odds with the bustling, modern inner city. Visitors get a glimpse of the serene and simple lifestyle of riverbank dwellers. This picturesque view is what earned Bangkok the title of "Venice of the East." En route, stop at the Royal Barges Museum and Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), one of the most attractive temples in Thailand.
Return to the hotel.
This afternoon, explore the Grand Palace - one of the most beautiful samples of an ancient Siamese court. It used to be the residence of the Kings of Bangkok. Here you will see palaces which were used for different occasions: the Funeral Palace, the Reception Palace, the Throne Hall, the Coronation Hall, the Royal Guest House, and Wat Phra Keo, the beautiful Emerald Buddha Temple.
Return to the hotel, and evening at leisure.

Leave the city behind today, travelling to Baan Lumpraya, situated on the outskirts of Bangkok. Crossing the Chao Phraya River, pass rice fields and lotus ponds, making a stop at a coconut grove to see the processing of palm sugar from coconut sap. Board a local sampan for a tour along the Nakorn Chaisri River and visit Baan Lumpraya. This village is a Thai-Chinese settlement, established over 170 years ago. Get some hands-on experience cooking Thai food at a local home and enjoy the fruits of your labour. After lunch, visit a wickerwork village as well as an orchid farm, where you can see a demonstration of the cultivation and nourishment of various types of orchids. Return to Bangkok, and evening at leisure.
