After breakfast, drive to Umm Qais, a ruined Decapolis city with magnificent views of the Sea of Galilee to the North and the Jordan Valley to the South. Then drive to the Decapolis city of Jerash founded in 300 BC and enjoy a tour of the ancient Greco-Roman city, taking in Hadrians Triumphal Arch, the Hippodrome, the Forum, churches and amphitheatres. Stroll through the impressive colonnaded street, where on the original paving stones, one can still observe the wheel ruts of passing chariots. Proceed into the scenic mountains of Ajlun to visit Qalaat Ar-Rabad: the Castle of Ajloun. Built in 1184, the castle is one of the best preserved and most complete examples of medieval Arab-Islamic military architecture. Return to Amman late this afternoon. (B,D)

On todays city tour of Amman, you will take in the Citadel - excavations here have uncovered Roman, Byzantine and early Islamic remains. Descend to the traditional downtown area, with the Amphitheater and colonnaded street, then take short walk to discover the Souk. Next, on to the King Abdallah the First Mosque, followed by a drive through modern Amman. This afternoon, visit the Desert Castles: Kharaneh (The Caravan Sarai), the Baths of Amra and Al Azraq (The Roman fortress). Return to Amman. (B,D)

Check out of your hotel this morning and depart for Madaba. Tour St. George's Church, home to the famous mosaic map of the Holy Land before moving on to Mt. Nebo, one of the most revered holy sites in Jordan, and prophet Moses burial place. Then, proceed via the famous 5,000 year old Kings' Highway to Kerak for a tour of the famous Crusader castle of Reginald of Châtillon, which has been a fortress since Biblical times. Continue on to Petra, and check into your hotel. (B,D)

Full day in Petra a vast, unique city, carved into the sheer rock face. Entrance to the city is through the Siq, a narrow gorge, over 1 kilometre in length, which is flanked on either side by soaring, 80 metre high cliffs. Just walking through the Siq is an experience in itself. The colours and formations of the rocks are dazzling. View the magnificent Treasury, temples, tombs, houses and the amphitheatre. (B,D)

Continue exploring the many treasures of Petra and then move on to nearby Beidha. Beidha, or Little Petra dates back to the same period as Petra and contains many points of interest. Drive to Aqaba for a free day to enjoy the beautiful sandy beaches and the Red Sea. The city of Aqaba is situated at the most southern part of Jordan and lies on the most northern tip of the Red Sea. If you feel like exploring, sites include Mameluk Fort, one of the main historical landmarks of Aqaba, and the remains of what is believed to be the oldest church in the world. (B,D)
